| A group of Ellensburg citizens formed the Washoe Tribute Group to raise funds for a memorial to Washoe. This will take the form of a bronze statue that will be sited in a simple park-like setting in downtown Ellensburg — a welcoming place to rest, take photos, and tell Washoe's story to future generations. We are a private non-profit group, not affiliated with Friends of Washoe, or the Chimpanzee and Human Communication Institute. The Central Washington University Foundation will manage our funds, following their mission of public service. All contributions tax-deductible. |
